Guru Ravindra Nath Tagore's desire for a place where mind is held high led to the establishment of the Modern College of Education in the natural surroundings of Village Bir-Kalan, Distt. Sangrur, Punjab. The college was established in 2000 under the Registered of Societies Act (XXI) 1860, and was recognized for its B.Ed course in 2005. The college has a vast territory, including a large library, computer lab, college canteen, large playground, seminar room, green park, and 200-meter track.
